After an explosive start, the Premier League resumes a two-week break as most European stars join up with their national sides for the 2018 World Qualifiers on Tuesday and Friday.

17 Man United players have been called up to their national teams for the forth-coming September rounds.

England Internationals:

England manager Gareth Southgate has named four United players in the shape of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford.

The United quartet will hope to feature when England face Malta on 1st September, before a do or die tie with Slovakia at Wembley.

England lead their group two points ahead of the Slovaks which makes their clash all the more important. There could still be twist with Slovenia a further point in 3rd place.

Marcus Rashford will look to carry on his bright start in to the national team

If England beat Malta and other results go their way, then they'd be in a strong position to seal their place in the 2018 showpiece in Russia even before the remaining two matches in October.

Other European Internationals in World Cup Qualifiers.

The king of assists in the making, Henrikh Mkhitaryan as expected is in the Armenian squad to face Romania in a battle for 4th place in their Group E with both nations on 4 points.

The midfielder who has had a dream start to the season already shattering assist records for the first 3 premier league games of any player will galvanize his troops in-order to upset the opposition's bid to reach the 2018 finals.

After Romania, Armenia will return home to host another group favorite with Denmark their next opponents.

United's Belgium duo of Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini are in line to face Minnows Gibraltar in Brussels ahead of their visit to Greece.

The in-form men can help Belgium seal qualification with two games to spare if they win these two matches.

Paul Pogba is in the France team to face Netherlands and Luxembourg although the French are in trouble in Group A trailing leaders Sweden on goal difference.

Daley Blind and on-loan United youngster Tim Fosuh-Mensah are in the Dutch squad to face France and then Bulgaria.

Tim Fosuh-Mensah is on a season long loan at Crystal Palace

In that same group, Victor Lindelof should play for Sweden when they take on Bulgaria and Belarus. It's a group with a couple of United players, so the boss and many United fans will keep an eye on it.

Matteo Darmian is in the Italian squad to face Spain at the Santiago Bernabeu in a huge European derby. Both nations are top of the group with 16 points.

The Italians will then return home to host Israel as David de Gea's Spain visit Liechtenstein. It's a pity to see Ander Herrera and Juan Mata like Anthony Martial miss out on their national teams.

Nemanja Matic is the final European player to player this fortnight with his Serbia side hosting Moldova and then traveling for a top of the table clash with the Republic of Ireland in Dublin in a match where the winner will surely be eyeing an early spot in Russia.

South American and African Internationals

Argentina number one Sergio Romero will be in goal as the Argentines take on Uruguay in a clash that could be defining with them being in fifth but only 2 points off Colombia in second place.

After a tough test, they'll return home to host bottom-placed Venezuela. Marcos Rojo obviously misses out as he undergoes his recovery from his serious knee injury.

Antonio Valencia's Equador will hope to capitalize on any Argentina mistakes with them being only 2 points behind.

They will take on Brazil who have already qualified for Russia, before hosting Peru.

Back to Africa, Eric Bailly's Ivory Coast take on Gabon twice with the first leg away ahead of a return home after 3 days.

Six points would leave the Ivorians on the verge of qualification even before October's final rounds.

We will keep you posted on how the United contingent fare for the national sides in their international travels.
