Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all been nominated for the UEFA Europa League's player of the season award after helping United claim the trophy last May in Stockholm.

The ceremony will take place on Friday 25th August in Monaco, during the Europa League and Champions League draw for the group stages of this new season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored 6 goals in the competition before his season-ending awkward landing injury during the win over Anderlecht at Old Trafford in the quarter-finals.

On the other hand, Henrikh Mkhitaryan made the competition his own also scoring 6 goals en-route the triumph in Sweden.

Zlatan could be offered a short term deal at United once he recovers from injury

He notably scored the decisive goal against Ajax in the final to ensure United returned home with the only silverware lacking in the trophy cabinet.

Paul Pogba, the then world-record signing also made a real impact in the competition, starting all of United's games and even scoring the opening goal in the final against Ajax.

The nominees are chosen by every manager involved in the competitions group stages plus the journalists.

Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera were 5th and 7th in the overall poll.

United won the Europa League, EFL Cup and the Community Shield last season

Attentions are now firmly on Tuesday's UEFA Super Cup match against Real Madrid in Macedonia, where the first major silverware of the season is up for grabs.
