ON THIS DAY: In 2009, Antonio Valencia joined ManUtd from Wigan Athletic. He signed a four-year contract with MUFC.

He's gone from a flying winger to a world-class right-back, signed to become the 'next Ronaldo', he has impressively ended up being the 'next Neville'.
Coming from rural Ecuador, one would be forgiven to think he wouldn't make it as a professional football, but what a story and what a journey he's had.
Moving to the Premier League at young age and playing in a youthful Wigan team upto the age of 24 when he was snapped up by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Antonio Valencia has won the League and Europa League at Manchester United.
Fergie was definitely the best at spotting future talents and rightly so, did he end up with the now third longest serving United player only behind Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney.
He had one of his best seasons for the club in 2016/17, with a series of consistent displays in defence earning him the Players' Player of the Year accolade. Valencia also finished as runner-up to Ander Herrera for the main award voted for by United fans.
He shows no signs of stopping and is eagerly waiting for the new season after he extended his contract till June 2019.
He has now featured in a remarkable 291 games for United scoring 21 times. Not to mentione, he captained United to Europa League glory in May where United beat Ajax 2-0 in the Stockholm final.
Watch some of his moments in action in our embedded video below!
Here he is again when he realises he'll be facing Mohammed Salah on the wing at Liverpool! Bring it on!!
