Real Madrid 24-yr old striker Alvaro Morata has agreed a transfer to Manchester United with both clubs now negotiating a fee, according to the Telegraph.

It has been highly publicized that United are in the hunt for a real striker with Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to be released or to play again in 2018.

United has already submitted a £52.3million offer which was rejected and are now believed to have upped their bid to £60m which seems to be enough to convince Real to sell.

According to friends close to the striker, he has already confessed he'll be playing at Old Trafford next season.

The lethal forward who managed 15 goals and 5 assists in 14 starts for Real last term is keen to play more with the 2018 World Cup in the horizon.

Morata was given his debut by Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid

There's no other difficult job than trying to break into the Real Madrid forward line which boasts of the BBC in addition to quality talent on the bench in the shape of Marco Asensio and another United target James Rodriguez.

With the player himself revealing he wouldn't return to Italy unless it was for Juventus, United are left to get the deal done having missed on the chance to sign Everton's Romelo Lukaku who is set to return to Chelsea.

Another striking option that has been targeted is Torino's hitman Andrea Belotti who scored 31 goals last season.

However, the Italian has an £87m release clause which could hinder negotiations.

Here we take a look at what United bound Alvaro Morata has to offer to United and why United are seriously chasing him.

He is a known quantity

Having worked with Jose Mourinho for 3 years, the boss knows him all to well having given him his Real debut when he was 21. He scored 2 goals in 18 appearances and the striker even referred to Jose as the 'best manager in the world'

He is a big club player

He has proven himself in the biggest clubs notably Juventus and now Real. He has played in Champions League finals already and has an astonishing strike rate for Madrid this season.

Great scoring rate

Despite Morata playing a supporting role for most of the season, he has actually outscored the first choice striker Karim Benzema. To be precise he has a better goals per minute ratio than even Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez, only Lionel Messi scored at a higher rate. A striker who's scoring once every 89 minutes is simply what United is yearning for.

He can hold up the ball

United used Zlatan Ibrahimovic to good effect last season, where long balls launched to him, were chested down and the big man shielded the ball perfectly to allow other forwards to run in behind. Morata can do a similar job if not better if signed. He is tidy with the ball at his feet, and his first touch is sublime, way better than Lukaku's. He can link up with other players as evidenced by his 6 assists last season.

He is still very young

The striker is just 24yrs old and has his best years still ahead of him. He has the best conditions to develop to a top class center-forward having learnt from the best at Juventus and Real Madrid. He just needs to be trusted more and he will come up with the goods if he's the main man and who else better to nurture him than the man who unleashed him?
