Ander Herrera is Man United's Player of the year, beating Antonio Valencia and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a tight contest at the awards gala that took place yesterday at Old Trafford.

The Spaniard in his 3rd season now at United ended his compatriot's (David de Gea) dominance which so the keeper win three successive awards.
It's the most coveted award at Man United and the fact that it's the fans who decide, we can agree it's well deserved with Herrera impressing throughout the season.
Herrera has made 49 appearances in all competitions this season and will be key again in next week's Europa League final in Stockholm.
David de Gea speaking at the ceremony where he helped hand over the accolade to his best friend said, "He’s a top guy and a good friend. He’s an emotional player who plays with heart on the pitch and he’s a good player, to be fair!"
Herrera was honoured to receive the special award and acknowledged any of Antonio Valencia or Zlatan Ibrahimovic could have been a worthy winner too.
"It’s very special for me to win this award because when you see the list of winners, you realise how important it is," said Herrera after collecting his award at Thursday's ceremony at Old Trafford.
"And I stopped the record of David!
"I feel it [the fans’ affection] and I’m very thankful but I think a Manchester United player can never stop; we have to keep giving them the affection back because you can see we don’t always perform at our best, yet they are always behind us."
