United will qualify directly to the Champions League group stages unless this happens

We are set to qualify for next season's Champions League if we lift the Europa League on 24th May but there's a sweeter incentive in place.
That's of course after navigating through next week's return leg against Celta Vigo who we lead 1-0 after last Thursdays win.
Since 2014/2015, winners of the Europa League have been guaranteed a place in the Champions League but not necessarily the group stage of the competition.
With us being 5th in the Premier League currently, we would need to lift the Europa League to get into the CL next season if the season were to end now.
If we missed out on the Europa Cup and managed to finish 4th in the League, we would qualify for the CL but would have to play a qualifier to make it to the group stages.
However, there's a chance we could avoid a qualifier even if we finished 5th and won the Europa League, but that would solely be determined by who wins this season's Champions League.
The only way we will play a qualifier despite qualifying for the Champions League is if Atletico Madrid win the Champions League.
That's because they're unlikely to qualify for the CL via their league finish.
Ronaldo could do his old club a favour by dumping Atletico out of the CL
If the club that wins the CL this season also qualifies for it via their league finish, the Europa League winner will go directly to the CL group stages.
Juventus, Monaco and Real Madrid who could all win the CL this season are also on course to qualify through their league finish.
It appears unlikely Atletico Madrid could win the Champions League with them already trailing Real Madrid with 3 goals from their first leg.
That's it, we can hope old boy CR7 helps Real win the CL and we'll be in the Champions League group stages come next season.
Even if they don't win we hope Juventus or Monaco end up winning just not Atletico Madrid.
