Just like us, Jesse Lingard can't wait for tonight's derby to kickoff and he knows a thing or two about Manchester derbies!

He knows exactly what it means to win against City especially after coming through the ranks at United playing against City in every youth level.

We can't forget Lingard was so out-standing the last time we visited the Etihad as he alongside his partner in crime- Rashford, tormented the City defence repeatedly with their pace and direct running.

Lingard and Rashford literally killed City's defenders last time out.

It's no coincidence that we came away with the spoils that day in a feisty derby.

And tonight's match is no different especially with his knowledge of what it really means to the fans, players and staff if we win.

"I played in the derby at their place last season and we got the win in a good, feisty game.

"It was the first time Marcus and I had played there [in the first team] and it was a great feeling to win with the away fans there behind us. "This is a massive game. Obviously, as a local lad growing up, you know what it means. Coming through the ranks, playing at every level against City, you know what it means to everyone in the team and the staff to get the win on the day.

"It's massive not just for me, but for the whole club, the staff and the supporters. To come away with three points for us and our fans as well is really big for us. The lads will be 100 per cent up for the game."

Reflecting on United's recent good run of form, he said "Obviously coming into the game on the back of three wins is massive for us," "We had a solid and professional performance in the Burnley game the other day. It gives us great confidence going into the derby."

Lingard has started the last 8 games in a row and he'll be expecting another run out tonight at 10:00 PM.

Fellow team mate Antonio Valencia, who is expected to start tonight also claims he has been in United for long to know exactly what a derby means to the supporters.

"I've lived in the Manchester area for a good few years now, so I know exactly what these games mean to the fans.

Antonio Valencia will return to the starting lineup against City tonight.

"The people of Manchester put huge importance on this game. I know they really live the experience, so I'm sure it will be a great atmosphere.

"We're excited. We just hope that, on the night, we can perform really well and put in a big performance. I think we're going into it in good shape, we’ve been working hard and we all feel well prepared." Valencia who has played in 17 previous Manchester derbies is pleased with his season so far and the overwhelming praise he has received but still feels there's a lot of room for improvement especially under Jose Mourinho. "I’m very happy with the season and the work I’ve put in throughout the season so far," "But what we need to remember is that it’s not over yet, there are still games to come and there's a trophy [the Europa League] at stake at the end of the season. We need to make sure we get our hands on that. "I love this team and I love this club with a passion, I love being here and I’m very grateful for the support of the fans this season.

"Also, the manager and my team-mates have shown great faith in me, and that makes me very happy.

"I’m in a good place at the moment, but I need to make sure I keep pushing and performing at the same level until the end of the season."
