Warning for Anthony Martial

Jose Mourinho has issued a stern warning to Anthony Martial if he's to force his way back into the Manchester United starting eleven.

Anthony Martial warned to up his game or risk not making it at United.

The boss has issued a rallying call to United forward Anthony Martial to follow Marcus Rashford lead or risk losing his place in the squad.

The United forward signed from As Monaco for around $64m has only made 12 starts this season scoring only 3 goals.

It's a major decline compared to his first season, under `Louis Van Gaal where he struck 11 times in 31 appearances.

It can be argued however, that he was our main attacker under LVG as compared to Mourinho who has often rotated his forward line.

Like Martial, Marcus Rashford has also struggled this season even once going without a league goal for 7 months but the boss has a reason why the youngster continues to feature regularly unlike Martial.

"I have to go in the direction of the players, but they also have to go in my direction.

"Since September, Rashford has not scored in the Premier League, but he was always a player I chose. He was always a player I support because he was always coming in my direction and giving me what I want, so it is about that.

"Do I think Anthony is a player with great potential? Yes. Do I think he can play successfully for me? Yes."But he needs to give me things that I like."

"We are together for almost 10 months and I know the players much better now, they should know me much better now."

Rashford scored his second league goal in two games at the weekend, and with Wayne Rooney also part of the Anderlecht squad, Anthony Martial has his work cut out to convince the boss to restore him in to the starting lineup.
