  • The boss gives excellent press conferences: Having established himself as the special one, Mourinho in his maiden United presser took time to talk about his pride for becoming United manager, his record for nurturing young talents while at the same time aiming sarcastic digs at his old rivals Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola and LVG- the man who hid behind philosophies. He has continued to impress in pressers ever since.

  • Returning to the Champions league is the priority: Mourinho admitted he’s chasing Sir Alex Ferguson’s record of Champions League matches, while also revealing he hoped this is the only season United are not in the Champions League.

  • United are now playing with some new-found swagger combined with breathtaking attacking displays that were sorely missed since Sir Alex retired. Simply put- the smiles are back on fans faces. The entertainment is now back at Old Trafford, fulltime.

  • Jose Mourinho prefers specialists rather than multi-functional players: This is proven by his will to break the bank to land Paul Pogba a special midfielder in his sense, Zlatan Ibrahimovic- a proven goal scorer all over the continent. Eric Bailly a combative upcoming central defender and Henrikh Mkhitaryan a world-class playmaker.

  • Records are there to be broken: When Mourinho insisted he’d never play Wayne Rooney in midfield, many wondered where his goals would come from, and considering Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan were in town. Rooney has somehow still gone on to become United’s highest scorer of all time.

  • Young players still have a part to play: Critics questioned what would happen to young starlets Marcus Rashford, Fosuh-Mensah and co. under Mourinho. It didn’t take long to see Rashford back playing in the first-team. Moreover, Jose has gone ahead and given young Axel Tuanzebe and goalkeeper Joel Castro Pereira their senior debuts.

  • Maroune Fellaini is Mourinho-type of player: Having already survived Van Gaal’s era, many thought Fellaini’s days were numbered- not Mourinho though. The big man has become a vital player having already extended his contract and even popped up with vital goals especially in the Cups.

  • Everyone in this life deserves a second chance: When it comes to being professional even when you’re not playing, Bastian Schweinsteiger is the ultimate professional. Having been damped to the reserves, the German worked hard, albeit silently and has since won his place back in the first-team recently especially after Memphis and Schneiderlin were offloaded.

  • Ryan Giggs wasn’t forced out by Mourinho: Jose revealed Ryan Giggs was also a candidate for the United job but Mr Woodward opted to give it to the Portuguese who has a proven track record as well as a host of honours in his decorated CV. He however stated, Ryan Giggs is always welcome whenever he decides to return to the club he called home for 29 years.

  • United are the only English club involved in four competitions: Jose Mourinho is not the type to take any trophy for granted. And while managers like Arsene Wenger experiment with the Cup competitions only to end up lamenting after being knocked-out, Jose has perfected the art of fighting for titles all his life. United are still in with a shot in the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and the Europa League.

There’s still more to come from Jose Mourinho and Man United and looking at the signs right now, it’ll only get better…EndFragment
