10 things we learned from last night's game vs Fenerbahce

1. Wayne Rooney needs his mojo back:

Rooney missed the opportunity to take 2 penalties.
That, in and of itself is questionable.
Add in his current crisis of confidence and you begin to suspect the truth in the after-match explanations.
At the end of the day, we all want a Rooney who's brimming with confidence.
It's great for the team and it's scary for rivals. Nothing less. #BringRooneysConfidenceBack
2. Hello Michael Carrick:
Carrick seemed to shed off years (and years) to drive that midfield bus.
I'm tempted to compare his performance with that of Ander Herrera and showcase the difference but these are two different players.
However, let's just point out that Carrick's main asset is the quality of his passes.
We needed this in the absence of Blind. #OldIsGold

3. Paul Pogba is getting there.

Mourinho too everyone to stop putting Pogba on the clock: the lad would perform when he was due.
And he did show that last night.
He was terrific in his movement, composed in his goal and made that shot to score his third goal for the club. #ClassIsPermanent
4. Anthony Martial, Anthony Martial.
We all predicted that AM11's form would return once the Frenchman scored vs Stock.
The crystal balls (and football common sense) was right on the mark.
While he missed one v.clear opportunity, his goal adds to his ever increasing danger. #RivalsBeWare

5. Juan Mata #JuanLove

How much do you love Juan Mata these days? I mean, wasn't he impressive?
He was involved in the attack and was all over the place.
It also demonstrated why we needed a bonafide number 10, especially vs. Liverpool when it was - how do we put it - every forward player for himself.
I think, since we have a Sunday match, we shall explore the importance of having a #10.
6. Luke Shaw... Daley Blind, Different but the same.
Luke Shaw is the left back - he was brilliant on account of going forward and defending and when Memphis came on, you saw how he was so supportive.
He really can box in forwards and his speed is nothing to frown about.
Which brings me to Blind - Blind has his own advantages on the same position and I am now very confused to judge who should start... Check out #TodaysIssue for more on this.

7. Jesse Lingard thrives with support.

Lingard assist produced Pogba's ball.
However, you could also see the impact Mata's presence had on the his performance as he had more freedom to go forward and make those runs past the defense line.
This makes Lingard not your typical winger, who are able to drive the ball down the line on their own.
That's why Lingard thrived with Rooney and Mata all supporting him with to-perfect passes that he could press forward.
8. Darmian was not so bad.
So much has been reported about our favorite (ish) Italian's imminent departure.
However, he gave a glimpse of the kind of asset he can be and was largely untroubled; especially compared to his previous performances.
Can we simply give Matteo a chance (in our hearts, but not yet in your Fantasy Football team); because, if he can keep it up, he can return to his former glory.
And in case you are wondering, I am keeping tabs because this guy was great until that Arsenal game and the lights were dimmed, ever since. #DidArsenalBreakDarmian? Just asking!

9. Thank you for listening, Jose Mourinho.

Mou fielded a number-ten-less squad vs Liverpool and it was a disaster going forward.
He learned his lesson and gave a more balanced squad the opportunity to shine - and it worked.
Part of the issue is because these players are used to playing a certain way and even if he may desire it, the bus will never really take at Man United - except for very tactical games when we want to frustrate the shit out of fans and the opposition.
10. Manchester United is the best: the best fans, the best legends.

Robin van Persie's return to OT was met with a rapacious welcome and a standing ovation after he scored - wait for it - against us.
#ThatsAFirst when an opposition player has been greeted thus (except that one time when Benteke scored a cycle kick and we were like #bowdown).
Compare his reception with that of the same player at Arsenal and you can appreciate why there are no little boys whose hears are gunning to join the Gunners. #IKnowMyWordPlayTotalyRocks.
