10 things we learned from Tottenham 3-0 Man United

Last night, the realities of football vs the fantastical feelings of a fan came crushing and reality won.

Tottenham broke a 15-year jinx and scored, humiliated and trumped over Manchester United in the worst possible defeats with 3 goals in 7 sevens... and here are 10 things we learned from that game...[and yes, this has come later in the day, but meditation was important.]

1. Class is class: Timothy Fosu-Mensah is the real thing. I'm also including Martial and other ‪#‎wonderkids‬ but TFM was totally impressive.

2. Form is temporary, Van Gaal is permanent: There was a good run there and hopes and gone high - but it seems the fate of Van Gaal's leadership, his influence of restrictive football is his legacy and no matter what happens, we cannot escape that reality.

3. I like Ashley Young... but he's not and never will be a number 9! The travesty of football was visited upon us and we gifted Tottenham everything because Van Gaal's substitution tactics are crap. This is in a game where Anthony Martial was kept on the wing... hehehehehehe. You'd laugh if it was not so sad. Waah!

4. Every team loses and as they say in Kiswahili [asiyekubali kushindwa si mshindani] meaning he who does not accept defeat is not a competitor - but that defeat was one that left me hopeless because unlike years of hope and hoping to pull a magic trick, I felt it was all over... and then came to the sad realisation that 'we are no longer that Manchester United.' sad!

5. I want to say a big up for Blind & Smalling - despite the three goals and despite all the fracas, the boys turned up and did their duty. It could have been worse - much worse.

6. It takes a special something to win, and we lack that. For once, I missed Wayne Rooney or even Bastian Schweinsteiger. We were lacking that yesterday - heads went down and then there were those headless chicken moments... there is a distinct lack of leadership at the team.

Or the individual spirit is lacking. But whatever it is, it's something that SAF would not have allowed. He'd have marched down those sidelines, cursing, red and angry enough to ignite the team. We were a rudderless team, left to float without a captain while the manager doodled and gaped!

7. Respect to Tottenham & Leicester - they've beaten the small teams and that's why they are up there... Based on that display, Tottenham deserve it.

8. Congratulations Leicester - welcome to Champions League.

9. There are no 10 things to learn from this game. Infant, the only thing I learned was that as long as Van Gaal is manager, I should keep my hopes tied down, drowned and blindfolded. There is no hope.

10. I still love my team - but I hope to gods that this does not become another Liverpool-esq slide where I'll be living in the glory days when my child is born or gods forbid, another Arsenal-lite club where silverware doesn't mean shit as long as the dollars keep coming!

--- what else did you learn from last night's game?
