10 things we learned from Man United vs Everton match

Last night, Man United beat Everton 1-0 in a milestone-charged day to continue scraping the top 4 position.
Here are 10 things we learned from that game:

1. This is squeaky bum time and all wins are welcome - scrappy or clean.
2. All the same, something needs to be done to stop that no-scoring-in-the-first-half-trend that has developed this season. This is the 10th time it has happened this season - in the PL alone.
3. Daley Blind totally outplayed Lukalu and not just because there were no threatening moves on that end... but he always seemed to be well positioned to block any shots. Well done!

4. That is the kind of performance you expect after spending the international break smoking cigarettes, Marcos Rojo! While LVG said it could be jet lag; Rojo needs to understand that he's only got one set of lungs and #Smoking them out is not doing him any good. He kept messing passes and just looked unfit...
5. That Fosu-Mensah is just amazing: Leaping all over, providing amazing passes, exceptional positioning, cheeter-like acceleration. #thefutureisbright
6. Martial. Anthony Martial. He even got to smile, this time. No wonder Sir Bobby Charlton managed (also) to give a rare smile. #welldoneson

7. The one thing I like about Marcus Rashford is that he seems to improve with each game... He's becoming even more composed and his football vision is totally exceptional. #Wonderkid
8. That moment, after that move, to score that goal... and my heart was melting and I was like 'If this is the kind of team Van Gaal will leave us with, then I might learn to like the Dutchman...' #Changeofheart?
9. You have to hand it to Chris Smalling, he was wiling to take one for the team - even the yellow card.
10. Okay, Morgan Schneiderlin - once again you made that risky & long pass that led to the goal. He was strong and solid - without bringing issues here, it was clear his presence made the midfield flow as it was strong - just like against City!

10.1 Darmian had a solid game and we hope he can build up on that. I was very worried about him before the match but he stepped up and was solid at the back.
10.2 Ander Herrera is such a gentleman. That apology he made after the ball hit a fan... #feelings ❤
10.3 As always, we must remember to thank David De Gea...
10.4 Also, I want to acknowledge Van Gaal's substitutions - they were spot on. Herrera for Carrick and also Fosu-Mensah for Rojo. They made the difference.

10.5 Juan Mata's role up front cannot be ignored - he brought composure and leadership. Kudos. ---
