Bastian Schweinsteiger is not a waste of space

Today's issue: The Telegraph has given an in-depth article on the signing of Bastian Schweinsteiger claiming that it's a sign of 'how low United have fallen from grace over the last there years and it's also a sign of a complete lack of structure with regards to the club's signings....

🔴Ducker says: “Do not underestimate the sense of bewilderment United’s capture of Schweinsteiger caused in some rival Premier League boardrooms. Astonishment abounded. Even they could see from afar that United’s engine room required pace, power and, moreover, legs – an energy and exuberance that has been sorely lacking for so long.”
🔴I want to disagree with Drucker because I think, it's clear we needed Bastian - he's the Field Marshall and we saw that (in the first half of the season). He's also experienced and added some cover for Carrick, who is much older and needed someone to change with.
🔴This blame, if it's to go around, rests squarely on Louis Van Gaal's shoulders, as he's the boss who's been unable to utilise the resources available to him effectively. Here's how...

Van Gaal's bench misery can be attributed to one person: Louis van Gaal
🔴Since the signing (and buzz) of the Schmidfield, we've had little to enjoy on that front.
For one, Bastian's injury prone and LVG has not found a working system where the like for like substitution with Carrick would have worked better.
When it's worked (as it was supposed to, except for that Arsenal game in October, it's been beautiful.
Just look at how it went against Man City the other week.
🔴 On the other hand, he's benched our best creative and holding midfielders: Herrera and Schneiderlin and opted to pair a 'slow and older' (Carrick/Bastian) with the most technically challenged player we have for that role (Fellaini).
🔴 His explanation for Schneiderlin was that 'after praising him [Morgan] the Frenchman had a bad game the next time... and I think he was trying to teach him a lesson!!!
🔴 As for Herrera, LVG does just enough to avoid being lynched by the fans: such as bringing him on the last 15 minutes or having him warm up and warm up... Whatever Herrera did to LVG, I want that expose because this is beyond ridiculous!
🔴LVG is known to carry grudges and his treatment of Victor Valdes is a vindication to that.
He hates players who go outside his rigid structures and Fellaini, is the kind of player who'll not take/make a risky pass unlike Schneiderlin and Herrera who don't give ten shits about pass-pass-pass and want to move the game ahead...
LVG is scared of this and, unable to tame their instincts, he opts for a tidy, but ineffective muck in the middle.

Ander Herrera has had the worst of it under LVG for two seasons now.
🔴 Louis Van Gaal is a arrogant and a coward: he's afraid to admit his method has stifled the team and created a second tier system where players play, not according to the game, but according to a set system.
Even when SAF disagreed with players, he either made it clear why or shipped them off...
LVG's dictatorial system brokers no opposition and players are silenced to say things and when, like Valdes they Instagram them (or have their wives do); they are placed with the reserve team to rot...
