Manchester United's goalless draw was one to forget, but not so fast - here are 10 things we learned from that game (I swear they are 10!)

1. Anthony Martial should not play on the wing - it's not his most effective position. Even LVG should see it already!
2. Questions will be asked about Wayne Rooney, even if LVG finds it frustrating. We are not saying he's bad, we are saying his form is off.
And everyone is frustrated. Take him off, bench him, do something!
3. Juan Mata has a ready substitute in Jesse Lingard - there is no doubt the England international player's burst of speed and poaching ability added verve and sting to United's attack.

4. Jesse Lingard's start against Middlesbrough will be vital to kill the game early. I like his style.
He does not seem afraid to go forward.
5. Marcos Rojo continues to impress. Marcos Rojo's wall of defence was so thick, it was impossible to see this as the City of 5 goals and such!

6. Morgan Schneiderlin was all over, and in a good way. Perfect, strong, available.
He's becoming the backbone of United's game.

7. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ander Herrera were wasted with a very slow attack - Mata & Rooney were not there and there were lots of missed balls, giving City all the time to defend and/or crown Anthony Martial Officiel before he could make his move.
8. Jones & Smalling need more games together.
While Jones still had his 'catastrophe waiting to happen' moments - he's becoming more instinctual and stronger on the ball.
The more they can play together, the better they can get.

9. What a waste of 90 minutes - who knew a derby so touted can be so boring!!!
United should have killed that game early on, especially with City lacking key players.
This is something we could come to regret later in the season.
10. Ian McShane is a Manchester United fan!

10.1. I promised we'd get 10 things, and we have.
In fact, here's #10.1 - LVG left his substitutions too late!
10.2. Was it me, or did Yaya Toure just look bored with the whole affair? I feel insulted, are we not that important? Or does he still have issues?
